In this role, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring an automated mechanical sampling system, ensuring accurate and timely collection, preparation, and dispatch of mineral product samples in line with strict procedures and industry standards.This is a hands-on, operational role within a agile port environment where attention to detail, safety, and reliability are essential.About the roleSet up, operate, monitor, and collect samples from an automated sampling systemEnsure sampling is conducted in accordance with relevant procedures and standardsSort, label, and securely store samples while maintaining strict chain of custodyEnsure sample integrity is preserved and contamination is avoided at all timesAccurately record and report sample data and technical results for clients and shipping documentationEnsure all records are completed within required timeframes and operational schedulesCarry out routine cleaning, basic maintenance, and inspections of sampling equipment and vehiclesAssist with general site housekeeping, including spill management and store duties Support dispatch activities including sample packing, courier coordination,



and loading for transportAttend operational and port meetings to support shipping schedule requirementsQualificationsAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you will bring:Previous experience in an industrial, mining, port, or similar operational environment (desirable)Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to safely perform manual handling tasks, including lifting up to 15kg drums with mechanical aids and working in environments involving stair accessBasic mechanical aptitude (desirable)Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft OfficeAbility to prepare clear and accurate written records and reportsStrong awareness of health, safety, environment, and quality standardsGood communication skills and a customer-service / results-driven mindsetFlexibility to work rostered shifts aligned to shipping schedules (essential)Additional InformationWHY WORK FOR SGS?
