An established and growing product-based business is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join its Geelong finance team.
Operating within an international environment, the organisation offers stability, strong leadership and the opportunity to play a key role in financial reporting and business performance.This position is ideally suited to a technically strong accountant looking to take ownership of reporting and compliance responsibilities while continuing to develop their commercial capabilities.
Your new role:
Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of accurate financial reporting, compliance and financial operations across the business.Key responsibilities include:
Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
Balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and provisions
Month-end and year-end close activities
Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting
Variance analysis and performance reporting
BAS preparation and statutory compliance requirements
Supporting external audits and tax compliance processes
Monitoring working capital and cash flow performance
Assisting with foreign currency transactions and international reporting requirements
Driving process improvement initiatives and strengthening financial controls
Providing support and guidance across Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
What you'll need to succeed:
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
CA or CPA qualified (or nearing completion)
Experience in a Senior Financial Accountant, Financial Accountant or similar role
Strong financial reporting and month-end accounting experience
Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, compliance and audit processes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced Excel skills and experience using ERP systems
Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
A hands-on approach and the ability to work across a broad range of finance activitiesExperience within manufacturing, distribution, FMCG, agribusiness or a product-based environment will be highly regarded.
