About this roleWe are inviting Expressions of Interest for an Asset Engineer – Corporate Plant and Equipment to join our Plant team at Wellcamp (Toowoomba).
The Asset Engineer leads Spiecapag's asset management systems and maintenance frameworks across heavy mobile plant, HDD drilling equipment, and pipeline construction assets.Reporting to the Corporate Plant Manager, the role drives a shift from reactive to reliability-focused maintenance through stronger CMMS systems, standardised processes, and asset performance reporting.
It improves equipment availability, compliance, operational readiness, and long-term fleet performance.Responsibilities:Lead asset management and maintenance systems across plant, HDD, and pipeline construction assetsDrive the shift from reactive to planned, reliability-focused maintenanceLead CMMS implementation, optimisation, and reportingDevelop maintenance strategies and planned maintenance programs to improve reliability and utilisationAnalyse asset performance and failure trends to reduce downtime and optimise lifecycle costsEstablish reliability and condition monitoring programs, including root cause analysis and predictive maintenanceSupport plant compliance, statutory inspections, certification,



and audit readinessMaintain fleet visibility to support mobilisation, readiness, and utilisationContribute to spare parts, inventory, and replacement planningCollaborate across teams to drive standardisation, continuous improvement, and safetyTo be considered for this role, you will ideally possess the following:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline5–10 years' experience in heavy plant, HDD, construction, mining, or pipeline environmentsExperience implementing asset management systems, maintenance frameworks, and reliability programsStrong experience in CMMS, maintenance strategies, PM schedules, and asset reportingCapability in maintenance planning, lifecycle management, compliance, and plant performance optimisationStrong knowledge of heavy plant, HDD, and pipeline equipment, with the ability to interpret OEM manualsStrong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skillsProficiency in CMMS, Microsoft Office, asset reporting systems, and ideally Power BIExperience managing plant compliance, statutory inspections, engineering governance, and dispersed fleetsProactive and solutions-focused, with strong accountability, leadership, attention to detail, and commitment to safetyHow to ApplyIf you are an experienced Asset Engineer – Corporate Plant and Equipment, we would love to hear from you.
