We're pretty lucky that this is the norm, not the exception.Reporting to a Staff Engineer, this Senior Software Engineer will play a key role in building, maintaining and evolving the core Mosh & Moshy platforms.You'll work closely with product, design and data to ship high-quality experiences across our web applications – contributing not just to delivery, but to how we build, scale and improve as an engineering team.
This is a role for someone who enjoys being hands-on in the code, while also shaping technical direction, mentoring others and lifting engineering standards across the board.What you'll doOn a day-to-day basis, you will:Collaborate closely with engineers, product and design to deliver high-quality product outcomesWrite clean, scalable and maintainable code across our core applicationsBreak down user stories into well-defined technical tasks and contribute to delivery planningLead the development of features and MVPs from concept through to deploymentContribute to system design, architecture decisions and future technical directionImprove developer workflows, tooling and processes to enhance both speed and qualityAdvance and maintain our APIs and services to support product and business performanceLead engineering input into product and feature design discussionsMentor and support junior and mid-level engineers,



contributing to a strong team cultureContinuously explore new technologies and ways of working to improve our stack and outputExperience you'll bringWe're looking for someone with a strong product engineering mindset – someone who cares about what gets built, not just how it's built.You'll likely bring:6+ years' experience in software developmentExperience building and scaling production systems and applicationsStrong understanding of modern engineering patterns, system design and architectureExperience with at least one modern JavaScript framework (e.g. React)Experience working with backend technologies (e.g. Ruby, Java or similar)Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP or similar)Experience with CI/CD pipelines, testing practices and modern development workflowsExperience working within Agile teams (Kanban, Scrum or similar)How you workYou take a product mindset – thinking about user impact and business outcomesYou're comfortable in a fast-moving, evolving environmentYou think critically and approach problems with curiosity and pragmatismYou care about quality, performance and long-term maintainabilityYou're collaborative and communicate clearly across teamsYou're proactive, take ownership and follow things throughYou're open to experimentation — and comfortable failing fast and iteratingWhat's on offerFlexible working: we support a mix of in-office, hybrid and remote working across Australia.
