About Our Client
Our client is a boutique investment manager with a strong track record across alternative and private market investments, managing capital on behalf of high-net-worth and institutional investors.
Working closely with the Head of Finance and Operations team, this role will be responsible for managing the financial and trust accounting requirements across a portfolio of investment vehicles.
You will gain broad exposure to fund structures, investor reporting, compliance obligations, and portfolio accounting within a collaborative and high-performing environment.
This opportunity is ideally suited to an accountant with experience in trust, fund, investment, or financial services accounting who is looking to deepen their exposure to the investment management sector.
Job Description
Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual trust and fund accounts.
Calculation and processing of trust distributions and investor allocations.
Preparation of management accounts and financial reporting packs.
Reconciliation of investment portfolios, cash holdings and custody positions.
Assist with valuation processes and unit pricing calculations where applicable.
Preparation of BAS, GST, FBT and other statutory compliance obligations.
Support the preparation of annual financial statements and audit requirements.
Monitor trust structures to ensure compliance with governing documents and regulatory requirements.
Assist with investor reporting and distribution statements.
Liaise with custodians, external administrators, auditors, tax advisers and other service providers.
Support fund operations, transaction settlements and cash management activities.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives and the enhancement of finance systems and controls.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Trust Accountant should have:
CA or CPA qualified
3-5+ years' accounting experience within funds management, investment management, financial services, trustee services, family office or public practice.
Solid understanding of trust accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Experience preparing financial statements and working with external auditors.
Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
What's on Offer
Competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $130,000 AUD, plus super.
