The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will have overall responsibility for PingCo's financial strategy, management and governance.
The CFO will also oversee Business Services, including Finance, HR, Legal and Investor Relations.
The role will provide clear financial and commercial insight to the CEO and Board, supporting strategic decision-making across investment, pricing, market expansion, resourcing and future growth.
As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the CFO will work closely with the CEO and Chief Revenue Officer on commercial performance and act as a trusted financial adviser to the business.
The role will also support investor reporting, funding activities and future capital initiatives.
PingCo's Finance and HR functions are operated from Australia, with all three team members reporting into this role based in Australia and working established Australian business hours.
The CFO will be required to meet with and support these team members during their normal Australian business hours, which will require regular flexibility to work outside standard local business hours.
Key Responsibilities
Lead PingCo's financial strategy, planning and governance, ensuring the Finance function supports the company's growth objectives and provides strong financial visibility across the group.
Oversee the Finance Manager and Finance function, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, management reporting, statutory reporting, tax, audit, treasury, revenue recognition and financial controls.
Provide the CEO and Board with clear analysis of financial performance, outlook, risks, investment requirements and strategic opportunities, including financial modelling and scenario analysis where required.
Lead investor reporting and act as a primary liaison with PingCo's investors, including ongoing reporting, governance requirements, information requests and business updates.
Lead and coordinate funding, transaction and due diligence activity, working directly with investors, advisers and internal stakeholders across financial, tax, legal, commercial, employment and operational workstreams.
Partner with the CEO, Chief Revenue Officer and other senior leaders on revenue planning, commercial performance, pricing, commissions, significant contracts and strategic business decisions.
Lead PingCo's broader Business Services function, with executive oversight of Finance, HR, Payroll, Legal, Commercial Governance and corporate administration.
Manage the HR & Payroll Manager and oversee people operations, payroll, employment compliance and international workforce arrangements.
Oversee PingCo's legal and commercial contracting function, including contract negotiation, redlines, commercial risk, contracting frameworks and engagement with external legal advisers where required.
Oversee corporate governance, group entities, policies, insurance, delegated authorities, supplier governance and other central Business Services requirements.
Build scalable Finance and Business Services functions through clear accountability, effective systems, automation, strong data quality and continuous improvement of internal processes.
Act as a senior deputy and trusted adviser to the CEO, contributing to company-wide leadership, strategic decision-making and execution of cross-functional priorities.
Act as a member of PingCo's Senior Management Team, actively contributing to the leadership, strategy, culture and overall management of the company.
Undertake such other duties, responsibilities and projects as may reasonably be required from time to time, having regard to the seniority and responsibilities of the role and the evolving needs of the business.
A recognised qualified accounting qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent.
Substantial senior finance leadership experience within SaaS, telecommunications, technology or another international growth business.
Experience supporting investment, fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence or other significant corporate transactions.
Experience with an IPO, public company readiness or institutional investment is highly desirable.
Strong capability in financial modelling, forecasting, cash management and board reporting.
Sound knowledge of financial controls, audit, tax and statutory reporting across a group environment.
Commercial judgement and experience partnering with sales and operational leaders on revenue, margin and investment decisions.
Ability to explain complex financial matters clearly to executives and non-financial stakeholders.
Experience building and leading a capable finance team in a lean organisation.
High integrity, sound judgement and the confidence to challenge constructively.
