Todd Devine Homes is looking for a highly organised, proactive and solutions-focused
Draftsperson
to join our growing Design & Drafting team.
n
This role is ideal for an experienced residential drafting professional who enjoys more than simply producing drawings. You'll play a key role in translating concepts into practical, buildable solutions while coordinating information across design, estimating, sales and construction teams.
n
You'll work closely with our Development & Design Manager, Estimating, Sales, Construction teams and external consultants to ensure projects are documented accurately, efficiently and ready to progress through approvals and into construction.

About the role n
As our
Draftsperson
, you'll take ownership of project documentation from concept design through to construction-ready drawings.
n
Your role will include:
n
n
Preparing and maintaining residential working drawings and construction documentation
n
Developing buildable drafting solutions for custom homes, modular housing and Small Second Dwellings
n
Producing sales, permit, tender and construction documentation packages
n
Modifying and adapting standard plans to suit client requirements, site constraints and project objectives
n
Coordinating and incorporating information from engineers, surveyors, energy assessors and other consultants
n
Preparing and managing documentation required for planning, building permits and approvals
n
Reviewing plans for compliance with the NCC, Victorian Building Regulations and relevant planning requirements
n
Assisting with ResCode and planning-related documentation where required
n
Working closely with Estimating to ensure documentation aligns with project scope and budgets
n
Liaising with Sales and Pre-Construction teams to resolve design, compliance and constructability queries
n
Managing drawing revisions and maintaining accurate project documentation records
n
Updating project information and documentation within ClickHome and related systems
n
Identifying design clashes, construction risks and documentation issues before they impact delivery
n
Supporting continuous improvement of drafting standards, templates and documentation processes
n
Contributing ideas and solutions that improve efficiency, buildability and customer outcomes
n
What you'll bring n
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical drafting capability with practical thinking and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
n
You'll ideally have:
n
n
Experience working within a custom residential building environment
n
Strong proficiency in Revit, with AutoCAD experience also regarded
n
A solid understanding of residential construction methods and building systems
n
Knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC), Victorian Building Regulations and residential design requirements
n
Experience preparing working drawings, permit documentation and construction documentation
n
Confidence coordinating consultant information and resolving documentation issues
n
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate documentation
n
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
n
The ability to identify problems, think critically and develop practical solutions
n
Strong communication skills and confidence working with internal teams,
consultants and stakeholders
n
A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute across different areas of the business
n
A genuine desire to learn, improve and grow with the company
n
Experience with modular, prefabricated or off-site construction methods would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
