Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and reliable
Benchman
to join our sawmill team in Dingo, Central Queensland.
n
The successful applicant will be involved in the day-to-day operation of our grey bench.
Key responsibilities n
n
Operating the grey bench
n
Assessing timber and making cutting decisions to maximise timber recovery and product quality
n
Setting and adjusting machinery to produce required timber sizes
n
Monitoring timber quality and identifying defects
n
Working efficiently to meet daily production requirements
n
Carrying out routine machinery checks and basic maintenance
n
Working closely with other sawmill and production staff
n
Following workplace health and safety procedures
n
About you n
n
Has previous sawmill experience as a benchman, a good understanding of timber processing, timber sizes and cutting requirements
n
Is reliable, punctual and willing to work both independently and as part of a team
n
Has a strong commitment to workplace safety
n
Willing to work overtime when required
n
