Provide clinical leadership to the care workforce in partnership with the Clinical Manager
Make sure each care recipient gets safe, effective and appropriate care
Complete comprehensive needs assessments and use them to plan care interventions
Communicate planned care to staff, care recipients, families and the multidisciplinary team
Secure positive outcomes for care recipients, consistent with care plans and safe work practices, together with the Clinical Manager
Offer individualised, person-centred care that encourages independence and honours dignity and privacy
Observe the condition of care recipients, report any change and take suitable action
Put forward and carry out improvements to quality of care and quality of life
Advocate so that care recipients can make choices and informed decisions
Compile assessment and care information for the funding claim process
Coordinate handover of care recipient issues to change-of-shift staff with other registered nurses
Keep confidentiality, dignity and respect for care recipients at all times
Run medication, infection control and Work Health and Safety practices safely and effectively, and contribute to accreditation audits and ongoing compliance
Essential registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
Relevant Registered Nurse experience, preferably in aged care, with exposure to a multidisciplinary aged care team
Awareness of contemporary aged care sector issues and the applicable accreditation standards
Capacity to lead, delegate effectively and contribute to positive care outcomes
Strong verbal and written communication
Sound skills in problem-solving and organisation
Dedication to ongoing professional development and basic to intermediate computer skills
