The Rolen
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver scalable software solutions across a range of enterprise and mission-critical platforms.
n
This ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong Java development expertise, experience building APIs and microservices, and a passion for creating secure, high-performing applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to architectural decisions, and play a key role throughout the full software development lifecycle.

You will work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions while ensuring quality, performance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilitiesn
n
Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure software solutions across multiple platforms.
n
Build and maintain high-quality, well-tested, and maintainable codebases.
n
Develop and deploy APIs and microservices using modern development frameworks.
n
Participate in software architecture, technical design,



and solution planning activities.
n
Review code, provide technical guidance, and contribute to engineering best practices.
n
Break down business and product requirements into user stories and technical deliverables.
n
Automate software build, testing, and deployment processes.
n
Support CI/CD pipeline development and continuous delivery initiatives.
n
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve application and platform issues.
n
Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and technical teams to design practical solutions.
n
Produce technical documentation, design artefacts, and operational support documentation.
n
Research emerging technologies and contribute to innovation initiatives.
n
Support system performance tuning, optimisation, and platform reliability improvements.
n
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
n
Identify, manage, and elevate risks that may impact project delivery.
n
What You'll Needn
n
Solid commercial experience developing enterprise applications using Java.
n
Experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices using frameworks such as Spring Boot.
n
Experience working within the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
n
Strong understanding of software engineering principles,



design patterns, and best practices.
n
Experience with containerisation technologies including Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
n
Experience working with messaging technologies such as Kafka and ActiveMQ.
n
Solid understanding of relational and non-relational databases including: n

MySQL
n
MongoDB
n
ClickHouse
n
n
Experience with version control and source code management tools such as Git, BitBucket, or GitLab.
n
Experience working with DevOps tooling including: n

Bamboo
n
Jira
n
SonarQube
n
Veracode

Experience developing secure, high-performance, and scalable applications.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced delivery environment.

Preferred Skillsn
n
Commercial experience developing applications in Golang.
n
Experience working with high-performance network protocols and data processing systems.
n
Experience with API gateway technologies such as WSO2 or NGINX.
n
Experience working within complex government, defence, or secure enterprise environments.
n
Exposure to cloud-native architectures and containerised application delivery.
n
Experience contributing to technical roadmaps, strategic initiatives, and innovation programs.
