Job Description
Senior Compliance & Investigations Officers (APS6) n
Complete Staff Solutions are seeking Senior Compliance and Investigations Officers for our Federal Government Client and its expanding Regulatory Division. You will work as part of a supportive team under limited direction with the opportunity for autonomy and accountability.

Senior Investigations Officer responsibilities:
n
Apply a risk-based approach to conducting investigations into potential anti-avoidance schemes under the relevant Act
n
Use data and intelligence tools to draw insights which proactively identify high-risk behaviours, entities, and schemes, supporting further compliance action and contributing to the development of targeted compliance strategies
n
Prepare high-quality briefs, reports, and correspondence to inform decision-makers and contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of policies and procedures related to funding and disclosure
n
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to junior staff as required, fostering capability development and high-quality outcomes
n
Senior Compliance Officer responsibilities:
n
Independently review financial disclosure returns submitted by a range of participants to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with legislative requirements
n
Assess and review procedures on claims for funding across the relevant cycle, including undertaking complex compliance assessments in accordance with the corresponding Act
n
Oversee and coordinate the accurate processing and payment of funding, ensuring all payments are delivered in line with legislative and procedural obligations
n
Lead the collection and analysis of information from diverse sources to support a risk-based approach to identifying and investigating potential non-compliance, including risks of foreign influence through financial contributions
n
Provide leadership, guidance,
and support to junior staff as required, fostering capability development and high-quality outcomes
n
About you
n
Demonstrated experience in supporting or leading financial audits (or similar assurance activities), with strong organisational skills and a proven ability to manage tasks methodically, accurately, and in accordance with procedures
n
Well-developed analytical skills with the ability to interpret moderately complex information, identify issues or risks, and provide timely, accurate, and well-informed advice to support decision-making processes
n
Willingness to be versatile and adaptable as the section responds to the requirements of the legislative changes and guide junior staff as we navigate our reform journey
n
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within teams and across business areas, and to build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders at all levels
n
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, deliver quality outcomes under pressure, and apply sound judgement to balance competing demands in a fast-paced environment
n
A strong commitment to working collaboratively and contributing positively to a team environment, with the ability to lead by example and support the broader strategic direction of the Department and its Regulatory Division
n
Australian citizenship is required and is a condition of engagement
n
Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance is required
n
Certificate IV in Government Investigations (PSP*****), or the willingness to undertake this qualification with AEC support, is highly desirable for Senior Investigations Officer roles
n
Formal qualifications, or relevant work experience, in accounting, commerce, finance or related fields is highly desirable for Senior Compliance Officer roles
