Job Description
Georgiou is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our NSW business and play a key role in shaping the delivery, growth and future direction of our infrastructure operations. This role has been positioned as a critical leadership appointment, supporting the ongoing growth of the NSW business while providing a pathway for broader leadership responsibilities over time.

This is a genuine leadership opportunity for an accomplished infrastructure leader who has successfully delivered major complex D&C; projects and is ready to influence outcomes beyond individual projects. Working closely with the General Manager and senior leadership team, you will provide oversight across a portfolio of works, strengthen client relationships, support business growth initiatives and help drive the strategic direction of the NSW business.

About the Role n
Reporting to the General Manager, you will provide leadership across a portfolio of major infrastructure projects while helping drive commercial performance, client satisfaction and long-term business growth.
n
This role extends beyond project delivery. You will be a trusted advisor to the business, contributing to strategic planning, strengthening client relationships and helping identify opportunities that position Georgiou for future success.
Key Responsibilities n
n
Lead and support a portfolio of major infrastructure projects to achieve outstanding safety, operational and commercial outcomes.
n
Develop and maintain trusted relationships with clients, partners and key industry stakeholders.
n
Understand client needs and help position Georgiou for future opportunities and repeat work.
n
Support business development initiatives through market intelligence, industry engagement and client relationship management.
n
Provide strategic input into the growth and future direction of the NSW business.
n
Partner with project teams to optimise project performance, forecast accuracy, contractual position, risk management and profitability.
n
Drive consistency across project delivery, governance, systems and operational excellence.
n
Mentor, coach and develop Project Managers and senior leaders while fostering a high-performance culture.
n
Build leadership capability across the business through succession planning and talent development.
n
Critically review project performance and implement actions that improve commercial, operational and client outcomes.Support tender reviews,
project mobilisation and key project transitions.
n
Contribute to workforce planning, resourcing and business planning initiatives.
n
Your Skills and Experience n
You are an accomplished infrastructure leader who combines solid strategic thinking, commercial acumen and people leadership with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
n
You will bring:
n
n
Demonstrated success leading major complex D&C; infrastructure projects within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor environment.
n
Experience across major transport, water or similarly complex infrastructure sectors.
n
Strong strategic capability and the ability to influence outcomes at both project and business unit level.
n
Proven ability to build and maintain executive-level client and stakeholder relationships.
n
Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to critically assess project financial performance, forecasts, contracts, risks and margins.
n
Experience overseeing the performance of multiple projects and managing a portfolio of work.
n
Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to build relationships, coach and develop high-performing teams while driving accountability.
n
Confidence in setting clear expectations, providing constructive feedback and navigating challenging conversations when required.
n
Strong understanding of project establishment, mobilisation, governance, project controls and operational delivery.
n
Demonstrated ability to identify emerging risks, gaps and opportunities and drive appropriate action.
n
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
