Draftsman – Commercial Joinery & Shopfitting

Location: Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne

Full-time position

We are looking for an experienced
Draftsperson
to join a well-established commercial joinery and shopfitting business.
n
This is a hands-on drafting role suited to someone who understands how a project moves from concept through to manufacture and installation. You'll work closely with the design, estimating and production teams to produce accurate drawings and documentation that can be taken straight into the workshop.
About the Role n
Your key responsibilities will include:
n
n
Producing detailed
CAD drawings
for commercial joinery and shopfitting projects
n
Preparing accurate
shop drawings
for manufacture
n
Creating detailed
cutting lists
and production documentation
n
Interpreting architectural drawings and project specifications
n
Working with the production team to ensure drawings are practical and manufacturing-ready
n
Making revisions and resolving drafting or production issues as required
n
Ensuring drawings and documentation are accurate, detailed and completed within project timeframes
n
About You n
We're looking for someone who has genuine industry experience and understands the practical requirements of commercial joinery.
n
Ideally, you will have:
n
n
Previous experience as a
Draftsperson in a commercial joinery,



shopfitting or cabinet‐making environment
n
Robust
CAD drafting skills
n
Experience producing
shop drawings and cutting lists
n
The ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
n
A good understanding of joinery construction and manufacturing processes
n
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
n
The ability to work independently while communicating effectively with production and project teams
n
A practical, solutions-focused approach to drafting
n
Desirable Experience n
Experience with
TopSolid
or similar joinery and manufacturing software would be highly regarded.
n
Experience working directly with a
commercial joinery or shopfitting workshop
is also strongly preferred, as an understanding of how drawings translate into real-world manufacturing is important to this role.
