Hervey Bay Surgical Hospital is a smallPrivate Hospital specializing in elective surgeryin
orthopaedic,general,
urology and ophthalmic surgery, and endoscopy procedures.We have
twooperatingtheatres
and an endoscopic procedure room, day surgery PCAU unit, along with an 8 bed in-patient surgical ward opened 5-7 days a week.

Permanent Part Time -Surgical Ward
About the role n
As the Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing secure, compassionate patient centred care through the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.
n
We require Registered nurses for day, evening and night duty shifts over 7 days on our 8 bed surgical ward.
Key Duties and Responsibilities n
n
Carry out comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients.
n
Within scope of practice, implements planned evidence-based nursing interventions.
n
Act as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to procedures.
n
Contribute to the maintenance of an environment which promotes safety,
security and personal integrity of individual patients and groups.
n
Participates in pre-admission clinics
n
Maintain and adhere to Infection Control policies and practices.
n
Participate in performance review and activities.
n
Complies with organisational policies, procedures, work instructions and guidelines.
n
Ensure confidentiality of corporate and patient information.
n
Participate in Quality Assurance activities with support provided.
n
Successful applications will need to possess: n
n
Current registration with AHPRA with no restrictions
n
Vaccination against preventable diseases -Hepatitis B, MMR, Pertussis and Varicella (evidence required).
n
COVID -19 vaccination not a requirement.
n
Previous surgical experience will be highly regarded
n
Time management skills as well as high level written and verbal communication skills,
n
Strong attention to detail,
n
Full rights to work in Australia
n

Current CPR certificate
