Cougar Drilling is the largest supplier of Inseam Drilling Services to coal mines in Australia. We are looking for experienced underground drillers to join our operations at Dendrobium Coal Mine.
About You n
Whether you're an experienced Directional Driller looking for your next challenge or a motivated Offsider wanting to build a long-term career in underground drilling, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities Include n
Supporting and delivering underground directional drilling operations safely and efficiently
n
Site setup, maintenance, rig moves and demobilisation activities
n
Operating and maintaining drilling equipment to the highest standards
n
Following drilling plans, site procedures and safety requirements
n
Identifying and reporting hazards, risks and non-conformances
n
Completing operational reporting and documentation requirements
n
Working collaboratively with supervisors, crews and client representatives to achieve production targets
What We're Looking For: n
Experience in underground directional drilling
n
Deliver quality service that meets client expectations and industry standards
n
Complete handovers to oncoming driller and supervisors
n
Effectively manage the security and inventory of tools,
equipment spares and consumable items at the underground drill site
n
Strong understanding of directional drilling techniques, surveying methods, gas drainage practices and drill rig operations
n
Certificate III in Drilling
n
Leadership skills with the ability to mentor, guide and supervise Drilling Offsiders
Offsider Candidates: n
Assist in site set-up, site maintenance, site pack-up and rig move activities in a safe manner and in accordance with instructions from the Driller
n
Ability to lift drill rods throughout the shift
n
Housekeeping of all equipment ensuring it is of the highest standards
n
Strong work ethic and commitment to safety, with the proven ability to identify risks and assess all potential non-conformances
n
Capable of working in demanding underground environments
n
Ability to follow instructions, learn new skills and work effectively within a team
n
Previous underground mining experience highly regarded
