Job Description
This is a full-time position, generally Monday to Friday, with some weekend and ad hoc program delivery required.
n
This is not solely an education delivery role. It is a commercially focused position combining marine education, sales, customer engagement and program development.
n
Reporting directly to the Senior Account Manager, and working closely with the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in growing Sunlover's education business while ensuring our marine education programs remain engaging, relevant and operationally robust.
n
The role offers a varied mix of:
n
Sales and business development – prospecting, building relationships with schools and education partners, responding to enquiries and converting opportunities into bookings
n
Account and customer engagement – working directly with teachers, education agents and industry partners from initial enquiry through to program delivery
n
Program coordination – managing bookings, schedules, school communication and internal operational requirements
n
Marine education delivery – leading engaging programs at Moore Reef, Fitzroy Island and within the community
n
Program and content development – continually strengthening Sunlover's educational offering and alignment with the Australian Curriculum
n

What you'll be doing n
n

n
Proactively identify and develop new education business opportunities
n
n
Build and manage a strong pipeline of schools, education agents and industry partners
n
n
Follow up enquiries and opportunities with a strong focus on conversion and repeat business
n
n
Attend B2B meetings, trade engagements and industry events to present and promote Sunlover's education programs
n
n
Work closely with the Sales team to manage education enquiries, proposals and bookings
n
n
Lead communication between Sales, Education and Operations to ensure programs are delivered effectively
n
n
Build long-term relationships with teachers, schools and education partners
n
n
Deliver engaging marine education experiences on land, at sea and within the community
n
n
Maintain and enhance the quality of educational interpretation across Sunlover products
n
n
Support the recruitment, training and development of team members involved in educational interpretation
n
n
Develop educational resources and content relating to the Great Barrier Reef,
Fitzroy Island and marine conservation
n
n
Align activities and educational content with the Australian Curriculum
n
n
Lead student engagement, presentations and public-speaking activities
n
n
Maintain and develop education-specific risk assessments
n
n
Lead Sunlover's environmental education credentials, initiatives and associated deliverables
n
n
Contribute to, or lead specialised projects, partnerships and relevant grant submissions
n
About you n
n
We're looking for someone who is equally comfortable presenting to a classroom, talking reef ecology on a pontoon and sitting across the table from a potential business partner.
n
You will have:
n
n
n
A qualification in Marine Biology or a closely related field
n
n
Full working rights in Australia
n
n
Strong sales, relationship-building and customer engagement skills
n
n
Confidence prospecting for current business and converting opportunities
n
n
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
n
n
Confidence presenting to groups and conducting one-to-one business meetings
n
n
Strong administration, organisation and follow-up skills
n
n
Knowledge of the Great Barrier Reef, marine ecosystems and Fitzroy Island
n
n
The ability to interpret scientific information and translate it into engaging educational content
n
n
An understanding of the Australian Curriculum and the ability to align programs and activities accordingly
n
n
A current Blue Card
n
n
Current First Aid qualifications
n
n
Experience within tourism, education, environmental interpretation, sales or business development will be highly regarded.
n
