An opportunity exists for a Meat & Chicken Pick Packer/General hand in our Processing Room at Classic Meats, Townsville branch.
About the Role: n
Reporting to the Branch Manager & Meat Manager, this position requires a motivated and reliable person to work in our processing room with our butchers to provide quality product wide range of customers.
n
We seek a motivated person who is self-driven and looking to work in a fast-paced friendly environment and can work with minimal supervision.
n
This is a physical role and ideally knowledge of Meat & Chicken cuts along with food safety experience would be highly regarded, there is some heavy lifting involved so being physically capable is also required.
n
Training in our in-house systems will be provided.
Duties include but are not limited to: n
n
Weighing & recording weights & packing customer orders
n
Using a cryovac machine
n
Assisting with production of portion cut meat, sausages, mince, & crumbing of products, chicken & beef schnitzels.
n
Work co-operatively with all team members
n
General processing room duties and liaise with other departments
n
Assisting with clean down at the end of day
n
Skills and Experience required: n
n
Robust organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multi-task
n
Confident with numbers & reliable
n




An understanding of the Meat/butchery, foodservice industry or an allied industry would be advantageous
n
Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously with good communication skills
n
Physically fit and motivated with the ability to work within a team environment
n
Previous delivery experience desirable & you must be willing to help out in other areas when required
