The Position

We're looking for a
genuinely creative Social Media VA
who lives and breathes short-form video, to join a fast growing Australian e-commerce brand. This is a role for someone who can take raw phone footage and turn it into scroll-stopping reels, build statics that convert, and bring their own ideas to the table rather than waiting to be told what to make.

The Details

Job Location: Remote, work from home

Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Work Hours (PH Time): 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (TBC)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
n
Video Editing & Short-Form Content
n
n
n
Edit raw founder-filmed footage into high-performing reels for Instagram and TikTok.
n
n
Build solid hooks that stop the scroll in the first three seconds.
n
n
Pull usable snippets out of longer videos and interviews, and turn them into standalone content.
n
n
Produce multiple variations of content that is already performing well.
n
n
Graphics & Static Creative
n
n
n




Design static creative in Canva for social and paid campaigns.
n
n
Keep every piece on brand, accurate and consistent, including product names and claims.
n
n
Research what competitors and strong brands are doing, and bring back ideas worth testing.
n
n
Email Marketing Support
n
n
n
Build and send email campaigns for new product drops and promotions.
n
n
Review the existing email flows and recommend where they could be improved.
n
n
Act on those improvements once they are agreed.
n
n
Creative Direction & Collaboration
n
n
n
Bring ideas to the founder rather than waiting for a brief, including what to film next.
n
n
Maintain the content calendar and work ahead of key dates and promotions.
n
n
Keep all content, captions and assets organised in a shared system the whole business can access.
n
n
Learn and respect the brand's compliance rules, including what claims can and cannot be made.
n
Software skills
n
n
n
Video editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut or Filmora.
n
n
Canva. Adobe Creative Suite is a
bonus, not a requirement.
n
n
Instagram and TikTok, with a strong understanding of what performs on each.
n




n
AI tools for content and ideation, including Claude, ChatGPT or similar.
n
n
Email marketing platform: Klaviyo, Mailchimp or ActiveCampaign.
Klaviyo experience is an advantage but not essential

Google Workspace and Loom.
n

4-5 years experienc
e working remotely as a social media, content or creative VA for US, Australian or European clients.
n
n
A portfolio of short-form videos you have personally edited. We want to see your work!
n
n
Proven experience editing for Instagram Reels and TikTok, with a real understanding of hooks and retention.
n
n
Experience creating static creative for e-commerce or direct-to-consumer brands.
n
n
Some hands-on email marketing experience.
n
n
Strong English and communication skills, written and spoken.
n
n
Exceptional attention to detail.
n
n
Experience working with AI tools as part of your creative process.
n
