Mitchell & Brown Communications is a locally owned Western Australian Communications, Security and Fire Protection Systems provider operating throughout regional Western Australia.
We deliver telecommunications infrastructure, structured cabling, fibre optic cabling, electronic security systems, CCTV, access control, fire detection and suppression systems to commercial, industrial, government and residential clients.
As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivatedFinance Officerto join our team inGeraldton.
Working closely with the Directors, this role is responsible for the day-to-day financial administration of the business and plays a critical role in supporting the continued success of our Communications, Security and Fire divisions.
About the Role
This position is available on apermanent part-time basis (minimum 0.6 FTE / approximately 22.8 hours per week or 7.6 hours per day), with flexibility to discuss working arrangements that suit the successful candidate (such as school hours).
Key Responsibilities include:
Accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
Customer invoicing through simPRO and Xero
Debtor management and collections
Supplier payments and remittances
Bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations
Month-end processing and reporting support
Cash flow administration
simPRO job costing and invoicing administration
Payroll administration
Financial record maintenance and reporting support
General office and finance administration duties
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Previous experience in a bookkeeping, accounts or finance position
Strong practical experience using Xero
It is desirable to have existing experience using simPRO or similar job management software




Sound understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Solid reconciliation skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
Professional written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
The following will be highly regarded:
Experience withintelecommunications,security, construction, trade or contracting industries
Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping or an equivalent qualification
Experience assisting with BAS preparation
