A leading national firm is seeking a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join its Sydney-based Employment & Workplace Relations practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute employment lawyer who enjoys working closely with clients on strategic, complex, and often sensitive workplace matters.
You will play a key role in advising employers across the full employment lifecycle, partnering with clients to deliver pragmatic, business-focused advice while contributing to the continued growth of a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
Advising on employment contracts, policies, and workplace frameworks
Providing strategic advice on discrimination, termination, and workplace investigations
Managing employment-related disputes and dispute resolution processes
Advising on regulatory developments and compliance obligations
Supporting clients through complex employment and industrial relations issues




Collaborating closely with partners and mentoring junior lawyers
About You
This role will suit a lawyer who:
Has 5+ years' PQE in employment law within private practice
Brings solid technical expertise with a commercial, client-first mindset
Thrives in a fast-paced environment and manages deadlines effectively
Communicates confidently with both internal and external stakeholders
Takes a collaborative, positive, and proactive approach to their work
Is motivated to contribute to team culture, mentoring, and long-term practice growth
