Established in ****, our rapidly growing campus provides a vibrant learning community featuring state-of-the-art STEM infrastructure, dedicated workshop spaces, and custom-designed environments built to foster hands-on innovation and creative design.
Carey Baptist College is seeking a passionate, highly skilled, and adaptable Christian Secondary Technology Teacher to join our Secondary team, commencing in January **** (or earlier by negotiation for the right candidate).
We are flexible regarding load and are happy to consider applicants seeking between 0.6 FTE and a full-time 1.0 FTE placement.
This is an exciting opportunity to help build, shape, and grow a Technology programme in our new, state-of-the-art facilities.
We are open to creative ideas to expand and develop this learning space, making it an ideal role for a versatile educator who thrives on turning theoretical ideas into practical projects within a supportive Christian framework.
We are looking for someone with a diverse skill set across areas such as Materials/Design (Metal or Wood), Robotics & Mechatronics, Digital Technologies, Computing, or Engineering.
Additionally, a background or skillset in Media Production and Analysis would be advantageous as our technology and creative arts pathways continue to expand.
Key Responsibilities
Build & Innovate:
Shape, develop, and expand our Technology curriculum in our new state-of-the-art facilities,



bringing fresh ideas to grow the programme and learning space.
Deliver Engaging Curriculum:
Plan, facilitate, and assess high-quality practical and theoretical learning across Design & Technology and Digital Technologies learning areas.
Embed Explicit Pedagogy:
Utilise evidence-based teaching strategies, drawing on AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) frameworks to build inquiry, collaboration, organisation, and problem-solving habits in every workshop, lab, and studio space.
Inspire Technological & Creative Innovation:
Cultivate practical craft, design thinking, coding, engineering principles, or digital media creation, drawing on our specialised STEM and media facilities to engage students in real-world contexts.
Maintain Safety Standards:
Ensure a safe, supportive, and well-managed environment adhering to all occupational health and safety standards.
Support Student Wellbeing:
Champion an inclusive, encouraging culture that nurtures character development, resilience, and academic growth.
Collaborate & Innovate:
Work alongside dedicated colleagues to refine learning programmes aligned with the College's mission and strategic vision.
About You




You are an experienced or emerging secondary-trained educator with a heart for student growth, a passion for hands-on learning, and a commitment to relational, faith-informed teaching.
You recognise that learning happens best when students feel known, valued, and challenged to attempt the extraordinary.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Secondary Education with specialisation or expertise in Design & Technology, Digital Technologies, STEM, or Media.
Practical expertise in one or more areas: Materials (Wood or Metal), Robotics & Mechatronics, Computing/Digital Tech, Engineering, or Media Production and Analysis.
A vision for curriculum growth and enthusiasm for building programmes in modern facilities.
Experience with, or a strong desire to embrace, AVID pedagogical methodologies alongside Visible Learning practices to raise academic ambition and technical confidence.
A reflective teaching practice that uses data and formative feedback to guide student progress.
An active Christian faith and a desire to play your part in the story of God in the world as a key contributor to our open-enrolment Christian community.
