We have multiple opportunities available for Trades Assistants / Carpenters to join our Defence division and support with this contract. This position will be located at RAAF Tindal.

Responsibilities n
n
You will support qualified tradespeople by performing a variety of manual tasks across construction, maintenance, or industrial sites,



or deliver carpentry and general maintenance services across bases.
n
Assisting tradespeople with tasks such as measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing materials.
n
Preparing and cleaning work areas, ensuring tools and equipment are ready for use.
n
Performing general maintenance tasks including patching, painting, tiling, and minor plumbing work.
n
Loading, transporting, and organising materials and supplies on-site.
n
Operating basic hand and power tools under supervision.
n
Performing general labouring duties including lifting, digging, and site clean-up.
n
Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors.
n
About you n
Our ideal candidate will have:
n
n
Previous experience in a construction, maintenance, or industrial setting.
n
Hands-on exposure to assisting qualified trades such as carpenters, electricians, plumbers, or landscapers, or be a qualified Carpenter.
n
Familiarity with using basic hand and power tools.
n
Experience performing manual labour tasks such as lifting, digging, or site clean-up.
n
Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work safely on active job sites.
n
Experience working as part of a team in fast-paced or physically demanding settings.
n
White Card.
n
n
You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
n
