Alpha HPA is a publicly listed, Australian-based company that has commercialised the world's first solvent extraction (SX) purification technique applied to aluminium. This breakthrough process produces a growing range of ultra-high purity aluminium materials – oxides, hydroxides and nitrates – used across advanced industries such as LED lighting, synthetic sapphire, semiconductors and lithium-ion batteries.

Alpha HPA's materials deliver market-leading purity levels with a significantly lower carbon profile. The Stage One HPA First Project in Gladstone is already in production – the first commercial application of Alpha HPA's proprietary Smart SXTM process, producing >*****% pure aluminium products.

Construction of the large-scale Stage Two facility is underway, with full-scale production targeted for mid-****. Once operational, Alpha HPA will produce 10,000 tonnes of HPA equivalent per year, right here in Gladstone.

The Opportunity
n
Alpha HPA is seeking a E&I; Technician to join its Gladstone team.



This is a rare prospect to contribute across both construction and operations phases of a major greenfield project.
n
We are looking for an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician with experience in green field project, commissioning and operational maintenance. In this hands-on role, you'll help maintain the reliability, safety, and performance of plant equipment by delivering electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities. Working with a skilled maintenance team, you'll support planned maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and help maximise plant availability and efficiency.

This role is a Monday to Friday role working 38hrs per week.
n
Key responsibilities
n
·Ensuring plant, equipment repairs, modifications and monitoring occur within health and safety guidelines.
n
·Investigating, analysing and determining root causes of Electrical & Instrumentation plant failures.
n
·Coordinating and communicating with Planners, Mechanical Technicians, Electrical Engineers and Operations to complete and resolve both planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
n
·Participating in pre-shut-down work scoping and shut-down facilitation execution.
n
·Providing direction and control of breakdown work to ensure maximum output.
n




·Conducting maintenance tasks within a rigid planning and clearance to work system.
n
·Ensuring maintenance budget expenditure is targeted to the right plant and equipment to obtain maximum value.
n
·Planning maintenance tasks using the TAG system.
n
About You
n
You'll bring:
n
·Dual trade qualification in Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I;) or equivalent experience.
n
·Experience in heavy industry or continuous manufacturing environments.
n
·Knowledge of DCS, PLC, SIS, motor control, instrumentation, and control systems.
n
·Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve root causes.
n
·Effective communication skills and the ability to work closely with operations and engineering teams.
n
·Experience with maintenance management systems, with a commitment to continuous learning and development.
