And now, as Vorwerk Australia continues its ambitious growth journey, we are looking for a Financial Controls & Compliance Lead based in Melbourne, to support our Finance Director for a 6 month FTC.
About the role n
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will play a critical role in strengthening financial controls, driving audit readiness (internal and year-end external audits), enhancing tax governance across Australia and New Zealand, and embedding robust process documentation. This position is ideal for a senior financial controller or compliance specialist who thrives on bringing structure, accountability, and stability to high‐risk activities during key financial milestones.
Key responsibilities n
n
Oversee balance sheet integrity, lead remediation of overdue GL reconciliations, and establish transparent standards, ownership, and review routines for month‐end close;
n
Lead readiness activities for an upcoming internal audit (November) and coordinate external audit requirements (Jan–Sept review and year‐end);
n
Strengthen controls around local tax submissions (AU/NZ), support transfer pricing readiness, and liaise with external tax advisors and Group Finance teams in Switzerland and Germany;
n
Map core finance processes,



identify compliance gaps, and introduce practical trackers, calendars, and frameworks for sustainable execution; and
n
Partner with the Finance Director, mentor local finance team members, and manage relationships with external auditors and corporate tax teams.

What we are looking for n
n
Significant experience in a senior finance, financial control, or accounting leadership role;
n
Strong technical accounting knowledge with hands‐on experience in month‐end close and balance sheet management;
n
Proven experience in GL reconciliations, controls review, and remediation of accounting issues;
n
Experience preparing for and supporting internal and external audits;
n
Experience coordinating with tax advisors and supporting tax compliance processes;
n
Strong process improvement and documentation capability; and
n
Ability to operate independently and bring structure to a changing environment.
