WHAT IS THE ROLE? n
The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the company's financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and statutory obligations, and supporting a robust financial control environment across multiple entities and jurisdictions. The role plays a key part in managing financial reporting, consolidations, multi-currency accounting, inventory accounting, audit management, and continuous process improvement within a complex international trading business.

Your responsibilities will include:

Lead the month-end and year-end close process across all group entities.
n
Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedule
n
Manage the accounting and reporting requirements of multiple domestic and international entities.
n
Manage foreign currency accounting and reporting requirements.
n
Maintain a robust financial control environment across the group.
n
Monitor compliance with delegated authorities, financial policies and accounting procedures.
n
Oversee inventory accounting and valuation across all entities.
n
Coordinate the preparation of statutory accounts and regulatory reporting requirements.
n
Support external tax advisers in the preparation of income tax returns.
n




Prepare and/or review GST, BAS and other indirect tax reporting requirements.
n
Act as the primary day-to-day contact for external auditors.
n
Drive continuous improvement across financial reporting and accounting processes.
n
Assist with cash management, banking administration and treasury activities.
n
Serve as the subject matter expert for accounting standards and technical accounting matters.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? n
Required Skills & Experience
n
n
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline CA or CPA qualified.
n
Minimum 5+ years' experience in financial accounting, external audit, or a similar financial control role.
n
Demonstrated experience in a multi-entity and multi-currency environment.
n
Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and financial reporting requirements.
n
Experience preparing consolidated financial statements and managing intercompany reconciliations.
n
Strong balance sheet reconciliation, month-end close and financial control experience.
n
Experience with inventory accounting, landed costing and supply chain-related financial transactions.
n
Sound knowledge of GST, BAS and statutory compliance obligations.
n
Experience managing external audits and liaising with auditors, tax advisers and other professional stakeholders.
n
Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems experience.
n




High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
n
Proven ability to identify process improvement opportunities and strengthen financial controls.
n
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical accounting matters clearly.
n
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced workplace.
