Plate & Steel Industries is an Australian‐owned steel processing business with a growing workload. We are seeking a reliable and detail‐focused Despatch Hand to join our day shift team at our Braeside facility.

This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who takes pride in delivering a quality product to customers and enjoys working as part of a busy team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Operations Manager
n
Working closely with the Despatch Team Leader
n
Packing and preparing steel parts ready for shipment
n
Operating plate cleaning and finishing equipment
n
Forklift operation and general despatch duties
n
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
n
Pack, protect, and prepare steel parts to customer requirements
n
Operate plate cleaning equipment to ensure product quality
n
Load and unload trucks using a forklift
n
Identify, label,



and stage orders accurately for dispatch
n
Coordinate daily priorities with the Despatch Team Leader
n
Ensure correct quantities, documentation, and presentation of goods
n
Maintain a clean, organised, and secure work area
n
Follow all WHS policies and procedures
n
ABOUT YOU
n
Previous experience in despatch, warehousing, or manufacturing (preferred)
n
Current forklift licence (required)
n
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
n
Comfortable handling steel products and manual work
n
Able to work effectively within a team environment
n
Reliable, punctual, and safety‐focused
n
Willing to undergo drug & alcohol screening
