The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is seeking an ambitious and inquisitive Senior Lecturer to contribute to the development of future engineers while advancing impactful research in microelectronics and electronic systems.
Working alongside leading researchers, industry partners, and talented students, you will be supported by a connected environment that values innovation, excellence, and meaningful real-world impact.
Drawing on UQ's culture of collaboration and world-leading teaching and research, you will have the opportunity to build a distinctive research profile while contributing to the School's growing strengths across sensing, instrumentation, communications, healthcare technologies, photonics, computing, and emerging technologies.
Key responsibilities will include:
Research: Establish and grow an internationally recognised research program in microelectronics, publish high-quality research outputs, attract and manage external research funding, contribute to translation and commercialisation activities, and develop strategic collaborations with industry and research partners.
Teaching: Develop, coordinate and deliver high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate courses across computer architecture, analogue and mixed-signal design, digital and VLSI design, embedded systems and related areas.
Lead curriculum innovation, coordinate courses, provide academic guidance to students, and contribute to continuous improvement of teaching programs.
Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise Higher Degree by Research students, foster researcher capability development, demonstrate leadership in responsible research conduct, and provide mentorship and performance support to staff and students.
Citizenship and Service: Contribute actively to School, Faculty and University service, build strong external partnerships, mentor colleagues, support staff wellbeing, participate in governance activities, and embody UQ values through leadership and collaboration.

About You
You will bring a strong academic reputation and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, research, supervision and service, together with:
A PhD in Microelectronics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, VLSI Design, Electronic Systems Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Demonstrated expertise in microelectronics and electronic systems, with strengths in areas such as integrated circuit design, VLSI systems, computer architecture, embedded systems, RF systems, sensing technologies, photonics, communications, healthcare technologies, quantum technologies, or related fields.
Expertise in analogue and mixed-signal integrated circuit design, digital and VLSI design, embedded systems, system-on-chip architectures, or related technologies, with experience using industry-standard electronic design automation tools considered advantageous.
An established record of high-quality research outputs and growing international recognition through publication in leading journals and conferences.
Demonstrated success in securing, managing, or contributing to competitive research funding opportunities.
Evidence of high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, including curriculum design, course coordination, and innovative approaches to learning and assessment.
A successful track record of supervising Honours and Higher Degree by Research students to completion.
Evidence of leadership, collaboration, and meaningful contributions to internal service, external engagement, industry partnerships, and professional activities.
