About the Opportunity
Beilby Downing Teal has partnered with the WA public sector in delivering trusted recruitment and HR solutions for over 25 years.
Due to unprecedented growth, we are now seeking experienced Recruitment Consultants to join our Perth Government Practice to work with government agencies in selecting suitably skilled staff through an objective and robust section process.
This is an opportunity to play a trusted, independent role, working with selection panels in ensuring candidate evidence, panel deliberations and appointment recommendations are documented accurately, objectively and professionally.
You will work across varied assignments, from shortlisting and interviews through to referee checks and final selection reports ensuring selection panels reach defensible, merit-based decisions in accordance with the Public Sector Management Act and Commissioners Instructions.
The main function of your role will be to:
Facilitate panel briefings, shortlisting meetings, interviews and final deliberations.
Capture accurate, objective notes of candidate evidence and panel discussions.
Guide panels in applying approved selection criteria consistently and in accordance with internal policies.
Prepare shortlisting matrices, interview summaries, referee checks and selection reports.
Document comparative assessments, conclusions and recommendations clearly.
Incorporate feedback and finalise high-quality documents within agreed deadlines.
Maintain strict confidentiality, impartiality and secure information handling.
About you
We are seeking experienced recruitment consultants with a good understanding of the WA Public Sector Management Act and merit-based recruitment.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
Experience supporting government or public sector recruitment and selection processes.
Excellent writing, note-taking, analytical and report-preparation skills.
A sound understanding of merit, equity, procedural fairness and confidentiality.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and accurately under pressure.
Professional judgement and confidence working with senior panel members.
Responsiveness, discretion and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Highly regarded
Knowledge of relevant government employment frameworks and recruitment policies.
Experience in job classification / design.
Experience with executive, specialist, bulk or high-volume recruitment.
