Purpose and Impact:
The Facilities Shift Operator plays an integral role in ensuring protected, reliable & effective Operation of the site.
The Facilities Shift Operator is a part of a team responsible for 24/7 oversight, monitoring, operation and control of all site infrastructure, utilities and equipment.
As a Facilities shift Operator you will manage critical power, generation, cooling and hydraulic systems whilst keeping accurate records, completing routine inspections and compiling data on site infrastructure, equipment and essential operating systems.
Facilities Shift Operators also play a role in switching between different power, generation & utilities configurations and performing safe equipment isolations whilst guaranteeing site reliability.
This will include technical assessment and investigation of proposed isolation and configuration changes to utilities, equipment and infrastructure.
Additionally, Facilities Shift Operator will be called upon to react and provide emergency response ensuring site service interruptions are avoided and all critical components are operational.
This will include performing maintenance and repair activities on a wide variety of equipment and infrastructure.
This is a diverse, multi-facetted position within a team of specialised experts who have control over and maintain a unique site.
As a member of this team, you will join one of 4 shift teams on a 3x nights, 1x day off, 3x days, 5 days off roster (12hr shifts) to guarantee 24/7 support and coverage to the facility and all utilities and equipment.

3x nights, 1x day off, 3x days, 5 days off roster (12hr shifts)
Essential Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain facility infrastructure, systems and equipment.
Effect the day-to-day operation and maintenance of allocated facility infrastructure, equipment and systems.
Coordinate and execute configuration changes on assigned facility systems and associated equipment, in line with scheduled and reactive requirements.
Staff and operate the Facility Control Centre (FCC), to include tracking of real-time site-wide impairment status, resource location and permitting.
Coordinate and execute rapid and reliable response to abnormal facility operational situations and emergencies; including equipment repair when necessary.
Effectively liaise and communicate with peers to ensure best-practice standardization, coverage and continuous individual and team improvement.
Deliver training necessary to develop and maintain the competence of facilities staff.
Conduct review and analysis of trend data; identifying, recommending, and implementing any necessary modifications,



expansions and/or additions to relevant standard operating procedures, emergency response plans or maintenance task lists.
Develop, review and execute primary utility transfer and switching procedures.
Identify and execute system and equipment preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance and/or repair tasks as required, scheduled or directed.
Monitor and facilitate the update of technical drawings, panel schedules and equipment operating procedures.
Maintain a complete and current working understanding of all relevant operational facilities infrastructure, equipment and systems.
Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing site environmental health and safety (EHS) policies and procedures; complying with applicable Work Health Safety (WHS) Act standards
Any other reasonable duties as required by the direct line manager or delegate
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Facilities Shift Operators should be able to perform general trades-based tasks and physical work of light to moderately heavy physicality
The position will also require some extended periods sitting and working in an office space monitoring equipment via HMI.
Additionally, there may be extended periods of office work reading and interpreting plans and completing technical documentation
The position may also call for extended periods of manual trade-based labour and time on feet working with tools and equipment
Attention to detail and high concentration levels are required along with the ability to multi task and perform thorough decision-making processes
Experiences:
Demonstrated experience in Site facilities operations and maintenance
Demonstrated experience and understanding of Site facilities systems, infrastructure and equipment
Competencies:
Technical Competencies
Completion of all relevant and directed system and role-based training requirements
Proficiency in applying best practice operations, technical and management principles
Strong understanding of Work Health Safety (WHS) Act, and EHS policies & procedures
Strong understanding of facilities equipment and functionality
Strong understanding of facilities O&M; requirements
Strong understanding of equipment maintenance requirements (preventive, predictive, & corrective)




Demonstrated high level problem solving, decision making and analytical skills
Demonstrated experience in SCADA, SAP, Microsoft Office, and other relevant computer applications

Security Clearance Required:
It is a condition of employment at JDFPG that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role.
The employee will initially require a NV1 with the intent of applying for a Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Department of Defence Security Clearance (Australian) or TS/SCI (U.S.) clearance.
Qualifications:
Essential:
Certificate III in Facilities Trade ie.
Electrical, Plumbing, Refrigeration or Mechanical
Statement of Work Requirements
All personnel assigned shall be:
At least 18 years of age.
Able to fluently read, write and speak English

Drivers Licence
Non-Electricians will require a restricted electrical licence for the purpose of testing for dead.
