About the role
As the Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting Support, you will lead the provision of financial reporting support and insights to Finance teams and schools across the Department.
You will oversee the monitoring of query management data to provide advice to teams in identifying trends and emerging issues, provide clear reporting and advice to stakeholders, and help manage complex financial queries to inform service delivery priorities and highlight opportunity for capability uplift.
You will also support improvements to financial systems, processes and ways of working while applying relevant government accounting policies and procedures.

About you
We are looking for someone who can:
Analyse financial and transactional data and turn it into clear, practical insights
Communicate complex financial information clearly to a range of stakeholders
Provide high-quality customer-focused advice and support
Manage competing priorities and respond effectively to complex and urgent issues
Work collaboratively across teams and contribute to improving financial processes and services
Apply sound financial knowledge and understand financial management processes, policies and systems
Lead and support others, including providing guidance, coaching and capability development
Key knowledge and experience




Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting or a relevant discipline, or demonstrated successful experience in stakeholder/customer engagement in a Shared Services/Contact Centre environment
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

Renewal is not required after the WWCC expires, as long as you remain in a non–child-related role.
