About the role
Join IDE Group as an Assistant Accountant supporting our Finance team during a parental leave cover period.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys a varied role covering payroll, payments, reconciliations, month-end activities and financial reporting.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of IDE's financial operations.
This position supports finance activities across multiple entities and is responsible for payroll processing, payments, reconciliations and month-end accounting activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Processing supplier and other payments
Preparing payroll across multiple entities
Performing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Managing intercompany transactions and reconciliations
Supporting month-end and year-end close processes
Assisting with preparation of financial statements and management reports
Maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting internal controls
Assisting with inventory and manufacturing accounting processes
Liaising with employees, managers and suppliers regarding finance-related queries
Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting capabilities

The successful candidate will join during an extended handover period and will receive training and support as Finance transitions from MYOB to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Skills and Experience
Essential
1-2 years' accounting or finance experience
Experience using MYOB or similar accounting systems
Payroll processing experience
Experience preparing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Experience supporting month-end accounting processes
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Highly Desirable
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
Payroll experience across multiple entities
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accounting
Intercompany accounting experience
Manufacturing or inventory accounting exposure
Project accounting experience
CPA or CA studies commenced or planned

Employment Details
This is a
12-month fixed-term parental leave cover position
commencing in November ****.
The contract is expected to conclude in November **** and is linked to the return of the substantive employee from parental leave.
Potential for extension.
The position includes an extensive handover period prior to leave commencing and support during the employee's return transition.
Pre-employment checks, including reference checking and criminal background screening, will form part of the recruitment process.
