The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Operations Managerto provide A critical leadership role at Langi Kal Kal Prison.
About the Business Unit
Corrections Victoria (CV) operates Victoria's adult prison, post-sentence and community corrections systems.
Its vision is for Safer Prisons, Safer People, Safer Communities.

We take a modern approach to correctional services, providing people with best practice interventions to reduce their risk of reoffending.

H.M. Prison Langi Kal Kal is a minimum-security men's protection prison located 140klm west of Melbourne at Trawalla.
The prison's primary purpose is to prepare male prisoners for transition, reintegration, and release.
As a working farm with eight separate industries, there is a strong focus on employment, training, and work readiness.
About the Role
Some of your duties will include:
* Manage the prison's day-to-day prison operations, including oversight of security, operational compliance and implementation of policies, strategies, programs, and OHS.
* Develop, manage, and ensure the quality of custodial processes including case management, movement control, operation of security equipment, reception and discharge, escorts, visitors and visits, urinalysis, searching, security procedures,



disciplinary issues and chair hearings and Case Management Review Committees.
* Contribute to the management team's oversight of budget, finance, HR, and OHS compliance requirements, supporting effective prioritisation and optimal use of resources.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Demonstrated ability to provide leadership within a correctional environment.
* Demonstrated commitment to working with staff, people in prison, and other service providers to reduce re-offending.
* Senior-level experience leading teams and working collaboratively across teams and organisations to deliver outcomes.
* Knowledge of, and the ability to apply relevant legislation, policy and procedure relating to Corrections Victoria and the management of its prison facilities.
* Computer skills, including experience with the Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and use internal systems is highly desirable (e.g. PIMS, e-Justice, Centurion).
* An understanding of contemporary prisoner management and offender services practices.
Qualifications/requirements
* A full and current Victorian driver's licence or a minimum P2 driver's licence.




* Completion of the Prison Officer Pre-service Training or a willingness to undertake and complete the provided Prison Officer Pre-Service Training is required.
