About the Role
As the Senior Park Management Planning Officer, you will provide strategic leadership in the development, review and implementation of park management plans across Victoria's protected areas.
You will lead multidisciplinary planning projects that bring together conservation, visitor experience, cultural heritage protection and land management considerations.
You will integrate scientific, cultural and operational knowledge to develop robust, inclusive and adaptive management plans that guide the long-term management of parks and reserves.
Working closely with Traditional Owners, community groups, government agencies and internal teams, you will build collaborative relationships and ensure diverse perspectives and expertise are reflected in planning outcomes.
You will also provide expert advice on management planning frameworks, support compliance with legislative and policy requirements and contribute to Parks Victoria's strategic objectives.

About the Team
The Strategy, Planning and Programs Division brings together multidisciplinary expertise to support place-based management across Victoria's parks, reserves, local ports and waterways.
The Division develops statewide programs, strategies, plans, frameworks, policies and procedures while providing expert direction and support for on-ground service delivery.
As part of the Management Planning and Effectiveness function, you will:
* Lead the development,



review and implementation of park management plans.
* Provide expert advice on management planning frameworks and organisational priorities.
* Integrate scientific, cultural and operational knowledge into planning processes.
* Monitor and evaluate management plans and apply lessons learned to future planning.
* Build strong relationships with Traditional Owners, communities, government agencies and stakeholders.
* Lead multidisciplinary planning projects and support capability development.
* Promote adaptive management and innovative approaches to emerging environmental, social and policy challenges.
* Manage planning resources and ensure projects meet relevant governance, risk and quality requirements.
We're Looking for Someone With:
* Extensive experience in park management planning, natural resource management or environmental management within a complex, multidisciplinary workplace.
* Tertiary qualifications in planning, environmental science, natural resource management, ecology, cultural heritage management or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated experience developing and implementing large-scale management plans or similar strategic initiatives.
* A comprehensive understanding of legislative, policy and governance frameworks relevant to protected area management.
* Sound knowledge of conservation management, visitor experience, cultural heritage protection and land management principles.
* Strong analytical,



research and project management skills, with the ability to translate diverse information into practical plans.
* Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams and complex projects.
* Proven experience engaging with Traditional Owners, community groups, government agencies and other stakeholders.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
* Experience applying adaptive management and continuous improvement principles.
* Strong strategic and forward-thinking capabilities, with the ability to consider emerging environmental, social and legislative challenges.
