About the role:
Senior Investigators work with the Manager, Investigations & Compliance to further develop, prepare and implement the investigation functions of the Health Complaints Commissioner.
They will conduct investigations, review complaints and identify issues, obtain evidence and consider quality improvement recommendations in accordance with the provisions of the Health Complaints Acts **** and the Health Records Act ****.

About you:
Main Accountabilities Include:
* Undertake complex investigations into health service providers in accordance with best practice investigation processes and administrative law principles.
* Prepare and draft investigation plans, notices, correspondence, warrant applications, briefs of evidence and reports.
* Apply sound judgment and highly developed analytical skills to assess and review complex information, evidence and data trends.
* Liaise as appropriate with various internal and external stakeholders to obtain required information and documentation to support the investigation and deliver quality outcomes.
Qualifications
A tertiary qualification in fields related to law, investigations, law enforcement or a related discipline and/or Certificate IV in Government (Investigation) would be desirable.
Specialist expertise
* Extensive recent and relevant experience in the conduct of sensitive and complex investigations, preferably in a regulatory environment.
* Demonstrated understanding of current administrative law principles and the capacity to apply these to sound administrative decision making.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Victorian health system and best practice in complaints resolution, including the Health Complaints Act **** and the Health Records Act ****.
