Manager, Strategy and Insights
Salary: $142,790 – $191,084 plus superannuation Work Type: Fixed term Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available) Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)
The Role
The Manager, Strategy and Insights will lead a high-performing team responsible for strategic project management, data analysis, technical solution development, budget oversight, monitoring and reporting across Apprenticeships Victoria.
Providing strategic leadership, expert advice and explicit direction, you will manage the team's operations, resources and performance to deliver high-quality analytical and technical functions that support the broader Branch.
As a member of the Apprenticeships Victoria leadership group, you will contribute to the Branch's strategic direction, lead key initiatives and projects, and foster a cooperative, high-performing and inclusive culture.
You will bring strong people leadership, strategic planning and data analysis capabilities to identify emerging issues, provide evidence-based advice and drive effective resource management and continuous improvement.
Main accountabilities:
* Provides highly specialist services or expert advice on service delivery.
* Identifies and responds to new and emerging strategic issues impacting on the operating environment.
* Develops briefs on highly complex issues that provide options for decision within an organisation.
* Prepares technical reports at an authoritative level.
* Explains highly complex concepts, ideas and issues to an executive (i.e. non-expert) audience.
The Team
The position of Manager,



Strategy and Insights forms part of Apprenticeships Victoria within the Skills and TAFE group.
Skills and TAFE focuses on enabling Victorians to access the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to participate in today's workforce, prepare for future jobs and achieve their educational aspirations.
Working in partnership with the Victorian Skills Authority, the group provides leadership and stewardship of a responsive, high-quality vocational education and training system.
Apprenticeships Victoria works with key partners across government, the Victorian Skills Authority, the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority and the Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery to develop a pipeline of skilled workers for Victoria's priority industries.
Its work spans apprenticeships and traineeship policy, strategy and reform, innovative program design, service delivery, performance monitoring, industry engagement and initiatives to improve participation and retention.
About You

You bring strong strategic planning skills,



translating organisational priorities into operational and team plans while providing subject matter expertise and supporting the development of others.
You can manage complex stakeholder needs, develop innovative solutions and use data and systems thinking to identify opportunities for improvement and deliver meaningful outcomes.
A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
