This new Events Assistant role presents an opportunity to apply your strong organisational and communication skills, attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality experiences, and support the Events team in delivering a calendar of exciting events and activations.About the RoleSouth Bank Corporation has been on a journey to reshape and bolster its Events team, which is responsible for planning and delivering an exciting calendar of produced, partnered, hosted and 'always on' events at Brisbane's favourite precinct.
In the last year alone, this has included the FIFA World Cup Live Site, On the Banks, Southwave, Riverfire, New Year's Eve, Brisbane Festival, Seafood Festival, the AO Live Site and South Bank's iconic Christmas celebrations featuring the Giant Elves.This is an embedded role within the Events team, reporting to the Producer, Events.Key responsibilitiesCoordinate event logistics, scheduling, supplier management and client supportAssist in developing event concepts that align with the Corporation's strategic vision and objectivesCoordinate with key internal and/or external stakeholders to prepare event venues, ensuring appropriate setup, styling,
signage and safety measures are in placeLiaise with internal teams and external clients to ensure explicit communication and seamless event deliveryBuild and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers and partners to ensure collaboration and alignment of goalsRaise and manage purchase orders and other finance-related tasks in accordance with the Corporation's Financial Management Plan and Procurement PolicyMaintain accurate and up-to-date event documentation, databases and records, ensuring compliance with Corporation standards.Undertaken administrative tasks including taking minutes, correspondence and undertaking event tracking systemsSupport post-event evaluations by gathering feedback from attendees, sponsors and stakeholdersAbout YouBachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality or Marketing or relevant work experienceExperience in event planning and execution (indoor and outdoor events from small- to large-scale)Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholdersCreatively driven and resourceful, with a demonstrated passion for eventsKnowledge of health and safety regulations, event logistics and risk mitigation processesFlexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required by event schedulesDemonstrated ability and willingness to work and learn as a team member in a fast-paced and frequently changing environmentAn excellent team player with the ability to support other team members to get the job doneBenefits on OfferCompetitive salary plus *****% superBrilliant office location with subsidised parking and public transportJoin a high-performing, inclusive and welcoming teamApplications will close midnight, Wednesday 21st October ****
