Our vineyards are at the heart of what we do, and we are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working outdoors and is committed to producing high-quality grapes.About the RoleReporting to the Vineyard Operations Manager, you will be responsible for a broad range of vineyard operations throughout the growing season and vintage.This is a hands on role suited to someone with vineyard experience who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Key ResponsibilitiesYour duties will include, but are not limited to:General vineyard operations and maintenanceVineyard establishment, including installing posts, trellis wires, dripper tube and planting and training young vinesHand and mechanical pruningTrellis maintenance, post repairs and wire repairsFencing and environmental worksIrrigation repairs, maintenance and operationOperating tractors and vineyard machineryDiscing, seeding, spraying, slashing and flail mowingCane trimming, sweeping and general vineyard maintenanceFertilising and other tractor operationsGrape harvesting and towing grape binsPre-pruning and other seasonal vineyard activitiesOperating ATVs for vineyard operationsOperating electric and diesel irrigation pumpsOperating irrigation systems and electronic controllersAssisting with environmental and farm works, including fencing and tree establishmentVintage & Working HoursVintage is an important and busy time of year at Tahbilk.
During vintage, employees may be required to work up to 12 hours per day, 6 days per week, with some extended periods of work depending on operational requirements.Day and night shifts may be required during vintage.Outside of vintage,
