Accountant – Sabre Engineering Services Join Our Team at Sabre Engineering Services!
Sabre Engineering Services is a growing engineering and workforce solutions company supporting some of Australia's largest mining and resources operations.With more than 150 employees and contractors engaged across our client operations, we're looking for an experienced and capable Accountant to join our internal finance team.Reporting directly to our Commercial Finance Manager, this is a hands-on accounting role with responsibility for the day-to-day financial activities that support our growing workforce and client base.The role has been created to strengthen our finance function as the business continues to grow, providing additional accounting capability while allowing our Commercial Finance Manager to focus increasingly on financial strategy, forecasting, commercial performance and business direction.About the Role Sabre operates in a fast-paced labour hire and professional services environment.With a workforce of more than 150 people, including a significant number of subcontractors, our finance function manages a high volume of weekly payroll, contractor invoices, timesheets and client claims.Our major clients also operate their own timesheet, procurement and invoicing platforms, meaning accuracy, reconciliation and strong financial processes are critical.You will take ownership of much of the day-to-day accounting function and work closely with our Commercial Finance Manager, employees, contractors and broader internal team.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and review a high volume of subcontractor invoices and supporting documentationSupport and process weekly payroll activities for our employed workforcePrepare and process client claims and invoicesReconcile approved timesheets, contractor invoices, purchase orders and client claimsManage accounts payable and accounts receivable activitiesMaintain accurate financial records and reconciliations within XeroComplete bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliationsAssist with month-end close and preparation of monthly management accountsAssist with BAS, payroll tax, superannuation and other statutory reporting requirementsMonitor accounts receivable and assist with client payment follow-upSupport cash-flow reporting and forecastingAssist with client, project and contractor profitability reportingWork across multiple client timesheet, procurement and invoicing systemsIdentify and resolve discrepancies between timesheets, worker costs, invoices, purchase orders and client claimsRespond to employee and subcontractor queries relating to payroll, invoices, timesheets and paymentsSupport the Commercial Finance Manager with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysisHelp develop and improve financial processes and controls as the business continues to growAccountant – Sabre Engineering Services Join Our Team at Sabre Engineering Services!

timesheets and paymentsSupport the Commercial Finance Manager with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysisHelp develop and improve financial processes and controls as the business continues to growAbout YouWe're looking for someone who is comfortable combining strong accounting fundamentals with the realities of a fast-moving operational business.You enjoy taking ownership, solving problems and getting things done.
