Help Shape the Future of Cultural Heritage on Western Bundjalung Country
Ngullingah Jugun (Our Country) Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (NJAC) is strengthening its cultural heritage capacity and is seeking a Cultural Heritage Coordinator to help shape the future of cultural heritage management across Western Bundjalung Country.
This is an opportunity to strengthen NJAC's cultural heritage work from the ground up, working with Western Bundjalung people to protect culture, strengthen community and ensure Traditional Owner voices are part of decisions affecting Country.
Reporting to the CEO and based in Mallanganee, you will coordinate cultural heritage assessments, support Cultural Heritage Site Officers, build key relationships and help strengthen the systems and processes that support this work.

NJAC is the organisation that holds and manages native title rights and interests for Western Bundjalung People.
NJAC protects native title rights and interests, supports cultural heritage outcomes and creates opportunities that strengthen the future of Western Bundjalung people.
NJAC's long-term vision is to build a sustainable approach to cultural heritage work that protects cultural heritage and supports Western Bundjalung people to care for Country.
Working in partnership with government agencies, project partners and community stakeholders, this work will be supported by expert advice, practical resources and established networks, creating a strong foundation for long-term success.
About the Position
As Cultural Heritage Coordinator, you will provide leadership and direction for cultural heritage activities across Western Bundjalung Country.
You will help build a strong, culturally informed and respected approach that protects cultural heritage,
supports Traditional Owner participation and strengthens cultural authority across the region.
Key focus areas include:
Leading and coordinating Aboriginal cultural heritage assessments
Supporting engagement with Traditional Owners, Elders and family groups
Coordinating Cultural Heritage Site Officers and on-Country activities
Building respectful relationships with councils, government agencies, developers and community stakeholders
Preparing reports and recommendations that support cultural heritage outcomes
Developing systems, processes and reporting frameworks that strengthen cultural heritage work
This is a 12 month maximum term contract with the potential for extension.
About You
You have experience in cultural heritage, land management or a related field.
You understand that good outcomes come from listening, working together and balancing the needs of Country, culture and community.
You will bring:
Strong connection to Western Bundjalung Country, culture and community
Knowledge of Western Bundjalung cultural protocols and family groups
Experience working with Traditional Owners, Elders and Aboriginal communities
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
Experience coordinating projects, people or community activities
Strong communication, reporting and organisational skills
A practical approach to developing systems, processes and continuous improvement
Respect for cultural knowledge, sensitive information and community responsibilities
