About the opportunity
TheGroup Billing and Receivables functionis a centralised Support Servicethat undertakesbilling andreceivableactivities across Mercy Health andcomprisesmultiple teams that support the Health Service and Health Ageing business streams.
Reporting to the Billing & Receivables Manager, Health Services, the_ CollectionOfficer _ is responsible fortimelycollection ofoutstanding debtors across multiple systems and sites in accordancewithAustralianhealthcare funding models.
This role ensures compliance with Medicare, private health insurance, and regulatory requirements while supporting revenue integrity and delivering high-quality service to patients and stakeholders.
The role will also develop an understanding and oversight of all Collections functions performed by theGroupBillings and Receivables Team whilst providingguidance,supportand educationto otherteam members.As a centralised role,
engagement will be via a common law contract rather than a Victorian health EBA.

_ To thrive in this role _, you will have:
2+ yearsofexperienceandknowledge ofperforming a similar Collectionofficerrole within the hospital sector.
Experience with iPM billing is highly desirable
A high attention to detail and commitment toaccurateworking.
Well-developed interpersonal,writtenand verbal communication skills.
Strictly understand privacyandcollection guidelines and compliance requirements.
A solid customer service focus and a commitment to a culture of excellence and quality.
Proficiency across the Microsoft suite of products to include Excel.
