Speech Pathologist – Casual - variable hours approx.
1 shift per week initially approx.
4-6hrs (negotiable)We are looking for a casual Speech Pathologist to join our friendly and supportive multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.Our service includes a 15-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit, as well as several day rehabilitation programs, providing a diverse caseload and the opportunity to work across both inpatient, day rehabilitation and Mental Health settings.The Speech Pathology caseload is shared with another experienced Speech Pathologist, providing support, collaboration and continuity for patients and families across the week.The role will involve working across:Inpatient rehabilitation, supporting patients with a range of neurological, orthopaedic and general rehabilitation needsDay rehabilitation, including our Parkinson's programCommunication and swallowing assessment and management across rehab and mental health unitsSupporting patients and families to optimise function, independence and participation throughout their rehabilitation journeyOur inpatient caseload includes patients recovering from Stroke/CVA, Parkinson's disease, Dementia and other progressive neurological conditions, falls and deconditioning, and orthopaedic injuries, as well as a range of complex medical and functional rehabilitation needs.You'll be part of a diverse and collaborative MDT including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Dietitians and Allied Health Assistants,



with a robust focus on patient-centred rehabilitation.We are looking for someone who:Is an appropriately qualified and experienced Speech PathologistHas an interest in rehabilitation and working with adults/older adultsIs confident working across communication and swallowing presentationsEnjoys working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary teamIs able to work independently while also working closely with the other Speech PathologistHas strong communication and clinical reasoning skillsThe position is casual, with approximately 1 shift per week, with potential to increase hours/shifts over time.This is a great opportunity for a Speech Pathologist looking for flexible work within a supportive rehabilitation setting, with a varied caseload across inpatient rehabilitation and Parkinson's day rehabilitation.Mandatory qualifications and experience:Degree in Speech PathologyCurrent (less than 3 months) National Criminal History check (or agreement to obtain prior to commencing employment)Experience working with inpatient and outpatients in a rehabilitation settingExperience working in a multidisciplinary teamExperience working with a broad case mix including stroke and Parkinson's DiseaseDemonstrated ability to manage a diverse clinical caseloadPersonal attributes:Excellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to work autonomously and in a teamHigh level of organizational and time management skillsEnsuring a high standard of care is provided to patients and their families/carersWe offer:a friendly and supportive environment within a multidisciplinary teamflexible work hours and work-life balanceonsite parkingopportunity to be part of an experienced team who provide support and are open to new ideas and growth within our service
