We are a leading criminal law firm in Newcastle seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join our team.

Key responsibilities
Preparing legal documents and correspondence
Managing diaries, court dates and client communication
Maintaining accurate files and matter administration
Supporting solicitors across a diverse criminal law caseload
About you
Proven experience in a Legal Secretary role
Preferred experience in dealing with criminal law content, including charge material, briefs of evidence, and court documents
Preferred experience with LEAP or at least similar practice management software
Preferred experience with or communicating with the Recent South Wales criminal justice system or similar
Preferred experience in drafting subpoenas, release applications,
and other Court‐related document preparation
Preferred experience handling trust money or trust accounting, including receipting money, invoicing clients and calculating trust accounts
Professional, confident and calm communication with clients, counsel and external agencies
High level interpersonal skills and experience dealing with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
Excellent document preparation, file management and court‐related administration
Ability to manage competing deadlines with accuracy and discretion
