Join the energetic team at ALAND as a full-time WHS Officer based in North Sydney, NSW.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety and environmental compliance of our construction operations, contributing to the well-being of our workforce and the success of our projects.You must have prior experience working on construction sites.What you'll be doingImplement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and systems to maintain compliance with relevant legislation and regulationsConduct regular site inspections, risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazardsInvestigate incidents and near-misses, implement corrective actions and report findings to senior managementProvide WHS training and support to project teams, promoting a positive safety cultureLiaise with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders on WHS mattersMaintain comprehensive WHS records and documentationContinuously review and improve WHS practices to drive continuous improvementAudit company locations to ensure hazard and risk processes are completed and compliantAttend to any safety incidents and accidents.




Complete appropriate ALAND documentation of circumstances/ instances and prompt reporting to the Construction Manager.Develop and promote effective corrective actions that are evaluated and implemented.Ensure safety performance data is complete and reported in a timely manner as required by ALAND proceduresAudit daily plant pre-start checks and recordsAudit workplace Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments.What we're looking for:Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related fieldMinimum 2 years' experience in a similar WHS Officer or Safety Advisor role, preferably in the construction industryDemonstrated understanding of WHS legislation, regulations and best practicesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsProactive, analytical and problem-solving mindsetAbility to work independently and as part of a collaborative teamStrong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvementWilling to work 6 days per weekWhat we offer:At ALAND, we are committed to providing a supportive and rewarding work environment.
