We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Vocational Education Teacher to join our academic team.
In this role, you will design, deliver, and continuously improve high-quality training and assessment programs in full compliance with the Standards for RTOs and ASQA expectations.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting diverse student cohorts, maintaining industry currency, and utilizing modern delivery platforms such as Moodle and Axcelerate.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Learner Support & Flexibility: Identify the diverse needs of learners (including Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) and additional support requirements) and design flexible learning and assessment options to meet them.
Industry & Employer Engagement: Liaise with industry representatives, employers, and other education providers to ensure training programs remain directly relevant and aligned with current workforce skill demands.
Resource & Curriculum Design: Plan, design, and develop training and assessment resources, learning materials, and delivery methods in strict accordance with national training packages.
Student Advisory: Advise prospective and current students on course offerings, education pathways, credit transfers, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), and related academic matters.
Training Delivery: Deliver engaging training through face-to-face, online, and blended methodologies - incorporating presentations, discussions, workshops, practical labs, multimedia resources, and Moodle-based activities.
Assessment & Feedback:
Assess student work, determine competency against unit outcomes, and provide timely, constructive feedback on student progress.
Record Keeping & Administration: Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress, attendance, assessment outcomes, and overall training activity using our Student Management System (Axcelerate) and LMS (Moodle).
Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all training and assessment practices comply with the Standards for RTOs and ASQA expectations, actively participating in validation sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Consult regularly with Training Managers, Student Support staff, Compliance officers, Administration teams, and teaching colleagues to support overall student success and organizational outcomes.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree (or higher qualification) in a relevant field.
Teaching Qualification: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent required qualification).
Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant work/teaching experience in a Vocational Education and Training (VET) environment.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with up-to-date LMS (Moodle) and Student Management Systems (Axcelerate) is highly desirable.
Skills & Attributes: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of ASQA compliance standards, and a passion for supporting diverse student learning styles.
