The opportunityTroocoo is partnering with a Queensland Government organisation to recruit an experienced Senior Finance Officer (AO5) for a temporary contract commencing ASAP through to 18 December ****.Working within a small finance team, you will contribute across the finance function, taking ownership of accounts payable and receivable processes, supporting month-end reporting and financial audit activities, and providing supervision and guidance to finance officers.This is an office-based role in Brisbane CBD, offering $69–$75 per hour + 12% superannuation.Key responsibilitiesCoordinate accounts payable, accounts receivable and purchase requisition processes.Manage corporate cards, petty cash and cost centre administration.Prepare monthly expenditure, revenue and trial balance reports.Coordinate monthly balance sheet reconciliations and review transactions for accuracy and compliance.Support financial audit activities and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.Respond to finance queries and liaise with internal stakeholders and shared services.Ensure financial processes comply with relevant legislation,
policies and procedures.Assist with low-value, low-risk procurement activities.Provide supervision, training and support to temporary and casual finance staff as required.About youYou will bring practical finance experience, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities within a small team.You will also demonstrate:Experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and month-end reporting.Sound knowledge of financial controls, policies and procedures.Robust communication skills and confidence resolving stakeholder queries.The ability to work independently and contribute to team outcomes.Experience supporting or supervising finance staff.Qualifications in Finance, Accounting or Business, and procurement certification, will be highly regarded but are not mandatory.The successful candidate will be required to complete relevant pre-employment checks and meet the organisation's political neutrality requirements.
