We work closely with clients across every stage of their financial journey — from startup and expansion to recovery and wealth-building, supporting long-term stability, smart decision-making and sustainable growth.We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Intermediate Accountant to join our dedicated team.About the RoleThe Intermediate Accountant will play a key role in supporting our clients with accurate reporting, timely compliance, and proactive financial insights.
Some of the tasks will include:Supporting clients with business setup and ongoing financial managementCompleting or reviewing bookkeeping across various software platformsProcessing payroll, ensuring full compliance with STP, superannuation, payroll tax and other relevant obligationsPreparation and review of financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships, and Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF)Assisting with BAS, IAS and GST compliance requirementsAssisting clients with CGT, negative gearing, depreciation schedules and ownership structure considerationsIdentifying ethical and lawful tax strategies in line with legislationSupporting senior accountants and managers in client engagements as well as liaising with clients to gather required financial informationEnsuring accuracy and compliance with Australian accounting and taxation standards at all times,
including in the provision of adviceLiaising and corresponding with ASIC and the ATO as requiredAbout YouWe are seeking a qualified and experienced Intermediate Accountant, someone who is dedicated to providing high-quality accounting services, who thrives on helping others, and always provides advice clients can trust.The right candidate will bring:Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a similar accounting role in public practiceStrong technical knowledge of Australian taxation principles, including income tax, GST and financial reporting standardsSolid bookkeeping and payroll knowledgeTertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or similarMembership of or working towards a CPA or CA qualificationExcellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple client matters simultaneouslyProfessional communication skills and the ability to explain complex tax matters to clients in a clear and practical mannerStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamHigh level of integrity and commitment to maintaining professional and ethical standardsProficiency in Karbon, Xero or similar accounting systems, and strong Microsoft Excel skillsFull working rights in AustraliaWhy Join TLF PartnersCompetitive salary negotiable dependent on experienceExposure to a diverse SME and property investor client baseOpportunity to work closely with experienced partners who are focused on professional developmentHybrid working environment with 2 days in our Cremorne office, and 3 days Working from HomeCollaborative and skilled team culture
