Help prisoners prepare for release and take their next steps.Assess risks and needs to support safer transition planning.You will help people access services, programs and support before release.Build your experience in corrections while making a practical difference.Ongoing, full-time role earning $81,496 - $98,955 per year, plus superLocated at Beechworth Correctional CentreWhat you will doAs assessment and transition coordinator, you will assess prisoner risks and needs.You will help deliver programs, services and support for prisoners preparing for release.You will:conduct thorough risk and needs assessments with prisonerscoordinate parole applications and support case management reviewshelp deliver practical transition and reintegration programs and serviceswork with service providers to arrange referrals and supportkeep accurate records and data about assessments,
programs and parole applications.About youYou should have experience in or an understanding of working in a correctional setting.You should also have:knowledge of prisoner transition and reintegration needsthe ability to use risk assessment tools with individual prisonersthe resilience to work with people who may be difficult to engagethe ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a prison setting.To learn even more about this role, please read the position description.
