Nathalia is located within ***** minutes of Echuca, Shepparton, Cobram and Tocumwal all of which provide many and varied experiences should you wish to travel out of town, and, the Murray River and all it has to offer is only a stones throw away.
In **** we commenced operating nine classrooms (2 classes each of Prep, composite Grades 1 & 2, 3 & 4 and 3 grade 5 & 6 classrooms) which will continue into ****, along with specialist teachers in Music/Arts, STEM and this 0.4FTE role of Physical Education teacher will continue our long running PE program.
Nathalia Primary School is looking for an engaging classroom delivery and PE teacher for the **** year.
The school has access to the Sporting Schools Program and uses these funds to assist the PE classroom teacher to deliver sports, hire facilitators and purchase equipment for those sporting sessions.
The school conducts an annual whole school swimming program (term 4) along with participating in AFL primary play sessions delivered by AFL Vic.
Any further Sporting Schools funding will allow the PE teacher to choose additional sports for the students to learn.
The school has a Mental Health & Wellbeing Team who support the students along with allied health professionals who visit regularly to ensure our students are receiving the assistance they require to be successful learners.
The school has a fantastic staff who work together with a shared moral purpose.

School Role
This vacancy is for a full time FIXED TERM PE / Generalist Classroom Teacher to start on the 27th January ****.
There is potential for this role to be reviewed later in the year and a further term of employment offered.
The role will involve being a jack of all trades: delivering classroom work, as planned by the classroom teaching teams, 3 days per week, and, teaching and planning Physical Education classes for the whole school for the remaining 2 days per week.
The position may suit someone looking for a tree change or just a change of scenery.
Allowing them to teach in a wonderful regional school (close to so many other vibrant community towns) with many experienced staff who are all willing to support the teaching team.
Teachers work closely together in their grade groupings with joint planning time allocated to support the growth of both teachers and their students.
Teachers are well supported with not only planning time, but with ES allocations in classrooms and a fantastic wellbeing team who look after not only the welfare of the student co-hort but take time to check in on the staff as well.
Selection Criteria

Role
The classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges- range 1 and range 2.The primary focus of the classroom teacher is on the planning, preparation and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes.The classroom teacher engages in critical reflection and inquiry in order to improve knowledge and skills to effectively engage students and improve their learning.
As the classroom teacher gains experience his or her contribution to the school program beyond the classroom increases.
All classroom teachers may be required to undertake other duties in addition to their rostered teaching duties provided the responsibility is appropriate to the salary range, qualifications, training and experience of the teacher.
Classroom teacher Range 2Range 2 classroom teachers play a significant role in assisting the school to improve student performance and educational outcomes determined by the school strategic plan and state-wide priorities and contributing to the development and implementation of school policies and priorities.
A critical component of this work will focus on increasing the knowledge base of staff within their school about student learning and high quality instruction to assist their school to define quality teacher practice.
