Working as part of a team of finance professionals, the role is responsible for processing supplier and miscellaneous invoices, maintaining solid vendor relationships,
and ensuring payments are made accurately and on time in accordance with agreed payment terms and organisational policies.
The role partners with the Accounts Payable Team Leader to ensure the accurate, efficient, and timely processing of supplier payments.
The role is responsible for meeting service level agreements, maintaining high-quality standards, and ensuring compliance with organisational policies and financial controls.
Working closely with internal stakeholders across the organisation, including Procurement, operational teams, and invoice authorisers, the Senior Accounts Payable Officer helps facilitate a smooth and effective accounts payable process.
The role also serves as a key liaison with suppliers, proactively resolving payment queries, invoice discrepancies, and other issues to maintain positive supplier relationships and support business continuity.
This is a permanent full-time role based at St Leonards with hybrid opportunities.Key Responsibilities includeDistribute invoices to relevant facilities and stakeholders for approval, following up with authorisers to ensure timely processing.Collaborate with operational teams, enabling services, and suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies, payment issues,
and supplier disputes.Manage and respond to Accounts Payable enquiries from suppliers and internal stakeholders via phone and email.Liaise with suppliers to obtain missing invoice documentation and ensure invoices are processed and paid within agreed payment terms.Perform monthly supplier statement reconciliations and investigate outstanding items.Assist with EFT, BPAY, and ad hoc payment processing to ensure accurate and timely supplier payments.Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.Maintain accurate supplier master data and serve as the primary point of contact for vendor‐related enquiries.Ensure compliance with organisational policies, financial controls, and audit requirements.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery within the Accounts Payable function.About YouCommitment to engage and align with HammondCare's Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in ActionAt least 3 years demonstrated experience in Accounts Payable or a similar finance and administration roleStrong administrative and computer skills, exposure to Coupa and Epicor systems advantageousHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailExcellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal teamsExperience processing high volumes of invoices within strict deadlines and service level agreementsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environmentStrong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks effectivelyDemonstrates empathy, patience, and a customer‐focused approach when supporting internal and external stakeholdersDesirable:Experience in a healthcare, aged care, not‐for‐profit, or large corporate environment is advantageousExperience with purchase order (PO) matching and P2P systemTerti
