The role of Team Leader Urban Design will oversee the daily operations of complex urban design and urban revitalisation projects, ensuring alignment with Council objectives.
This role involves engaging with various stakeholders, providing expert advice, and leading high-profile projects that impact the community.
Key responsibilities include preparing concept plans for town centre revitalisation projects, public domain plans for key centres, mentoring staff, conducting technical analysis, and collaborating across teams to achieve urban revitalisation outcomes.
The Team Leader will also represent the Council in various forums and prepare comprehensive reports for decision-making.
This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.Applicant Profile
To be successful in this role, you will have:
a degree qualification in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Architecture or demonstrated experience in a similar field
extensive experience in a similar role, combined with demonstrated ongoing professional development
extensive experience in leading and supervising multi-disciplinary teams, in the preparation of urban design projects, town centre revitalisation, public domain projects and town centre activation strategies
highly developed project management skills including the proficiency in analysing and researching complex and politically sensitive planning issues and delivering technical solutions, and the proven ability to manage, coordinate and deliver projects and/or programs within appropriate timeframes
the ability to present complex and politically sensitive planning concepts to varied audiences, fostering robust stakeholder relationships, and coordinating and facilitating both internal and external stakeholder engagement
comprehensive knowledge of local, regional and global planning and urban revitalisation trends, with an in-depth understanding of public sector policies, practices, and relevant statutory requirements.
This position has a salary range between $115k to $133k per year plus 12% superannuation.
A market loading payment may be applied to this role for the right candidate based on skills and experience.
We have a permanent full time role available
This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
We are able to offer hybrid and versatile working conditions for this role - 2 days from home and 3 days onsite
This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building.
A leaseback vehicle is provided in this role for official duties and private use and your choice of vehicle will be provided when one becomes available in accordance with Council's Vehicle Policy.
In the meantime, either an alternate pre-used vehicle or a vehicle allowance of $****** per week is temporarily applied for this position due to ongoing issues with supply for new vehicles.
